Most learners keep practising what they are already good at. It is familiar, and getting answers right feels good. But your IELTS Overall band is the average of four skills — so the single lowest skill drags everything down.
Choosing a skill on instinct
Writing feels weak, so you drill Writing. In the data, the lowest skill is often Listening.
Questions at the wrong level

AI credits
What the credits are spent on
Listening and Reading are graded automatically and never cost a credit. Credits pay for the part a machine has to read and judge — your Writing and Speaking responses.
1 credit = one AI-scored response. Writing and Speaking are marked by AI, and each response you send for marking spends 1 credit — wherever you request it.
- A full mock test costs 3 credits. Writing Task 1, Writing Task 2 and Speaking are marked separately — 1 credit each. Listening and Reading are graded automatically and cost nothing.
- Practice and re-scoring cost 1 credit each. One credit per AI analysis on a practice drill, and 1 credit per re-score (up to 2 re-scores per section).
- Failed marking is refunded automatically. If an AI job cannot finish, the credit goes straight back to your balance.

Mock cycle
Mock tests open when you are ready
Sitting unlimited mock tests on demand does not help — you burn through the passages and your ability stays where it was. Adaptive opens mocks after practice has built the base.
- Level test — always open It is the starting point for your band, so it stays available regardless of the cycle.
- Unlocking round 1 Finish at least one practice item in each of the four skills — Listening · Reading · Writing · Speaking — and one full mock test opens.
- Sit the mock The result automatically identifies your two weakest skills.
- Close the gap Complete two more sections in each of those two skills to open the next round.
- Round 2 — difficulty follows you The next mock is set to the band you have reached in the meantime.
Why lock them at all? Repeating mock tests without a base only confirms the same score again. Scores move when you sit the test after the gaps are closed.

Frequently asked questions
How long does the promotional price last?
Until October 31, 2026. Buy within that window and you get 30 days of access for $5.80, 80% off the $29 list price. After that the price returns to normal.
Does the discount apply only to a first purchase?
It applies to this 30-day pass when bought during the promotion. If you buy again after the window closes, the price in effect at that time applies.
Do I have to take the level test first?
It is not required, but it is recommended. With no history, your first picks start with every skill neutral and a profile forms over the first few days of practice. Taking the level test first means picks are based on your weaknesses from day one. The level test is free.
What if I want to do more than 3 items a day?
Items is what gets recommended, but practice itself is not capped. The full question bank is open, so you can do as much as you like, and everything you answer feeds the weakness analysis.
Can I change my target band or timeline later?
Yes. Reopen the settings in the learning hub to change your target band, timeline, weekly hours and focus skills. The recommendations follow immediately.
I want every mock test open from the start.
Adaptive unlocks them in stages as you progress. If you need all of them immediately, the Mock Test Pack is the right plan. If you hold both, the pack's access opens the mock tests straight away.
Do I lose my records after 30 days?
No. Attempt history, scores, band trend and bookmarks stay on your account. When access ends, what closes is the recommendations and the learning hub.
How do I pay?
